Oromia region's trade bureau states that essential food items for the Lent fasting period are being adequately supplied to markets at affordable prices. The Oromia Regional Trade Bureau has formed a committee with stakeholders to prevent shortages of staple food items during the Lent fasting period. Market Development Director Gute Temesgen told Fana Media that supplies are reaching consumers through regular markets, bazaars, and weekly markets at reasonable prices.

More than 600,000 heads of livestock, including camels, goats, and sheep, have been made available. Over 3.6 million doros of eggs and sufficient quantities are accessible, along with vegetables, fruits, oil, sugar, and other essentials.

The director urged the public to shop calmly, trusting the availability of goods, and advised traders against unjustified price increases. Consumers were warned against buying hoarded or spoiled products. Strict action will be taken against violators across the region.
