An out-of-season cold front will cause rains and showers in various parts of the country over the weekend, according to the National Water Commission.
The phenomenon, which normally occurs in winter, will generate heavy to very heavy rains with electrical discharges and possible hail in northern Mexico. The most affected areas include southwest Chihuahua, northwest Durango, northeast and southeast Coahuila, and north and west Nuevo León.
In addition, wind gusts of 60 to 80 kilometers per hour are expected in Chihuahua, Coahuila and Nuevo León. Other regions such as central, north and east Michoacán, southwest Guanajuato and south Querétaro will also see very heavy isolated rains.
In contrast, several states will face temperatures up to 40 degrees. This includes northeast Baja California, central and south Baja California Sur, Sonora and Tamaulipas. Mexico City forecasts a cloudy Saturday with lows of 12 degrees and highs of 23.3 degrees.
