Patrick Kane has signed a two-year contract with the Chicago Blackhawks, the team that drafted him first overall in 2007. The 37-year-old forward returns after spending three seasons with the Detroit Red Wings.
The agreement covers two seasons at an annual value of eight million dollars. Kane spent his first 16 NHL seasons with Chicago and helped the team win the Stanley Cup in 2010, 2013 and 2015.
He departed for the New York Rangers in spring 2023 before joining Detroit. In his most recent season, Kane recorded 16 goals and 57 points in 67 games.
Over his NHL career, the American forward has accumulated 1,400 points in 1,369 regular-season games.
