Persija Jakarta bolsters its frontline ahead of the second round of Super League 2025/2026 by signing Alaeddine Ajaraie on loan from NorthEast United until the end of the season. The 33-year-old Moroccan striker, known as the top scorer in the Indian Super League last season with 23 goals, is expected to sharpen the attack of coach Mauricio Souza's team.
Persija Jakarta, the Indonesian capital's football club, has officially signed Moroccan striker Alaeddine Ajaraie to strengthen their squad ahead of the second round of Super League 2025/2026. The signing is on loan from NorthEast United, an Indian League club, until the end of the season. This move follows the Macan Kemayoran's management efforts after previously introducing Fajar Faturrahman in the mid-season transfer window.
Alaeddine Ajaraie, born in Rabat, Morocco, on January 5, 1993, brings a reputation as one of the most productive forwards in South Asia. In the Indian Super League 2024/2025 season, he scored 23 goals and provided seven assists, earning him the top scorer and Best Player awards. His impressive form continued into the 2025/2026 season, with 10 goals and five assists in nine matches across the Durand Cup and Super Cup.
Ajaraie's career reflects a long journey as a professional. He debuted with Widad Temara in 2019, followed by RS Berkane (2019-2020), MAS Fes until 2022, Muaither SC in the Middle East in 2022-2023, AS FAR Rabat in 2023/2024, before joining NorthEast United since 2024.
After officially joining, Ajaraie expressed his commitment. "Right now, Persija is my home. I will fight with all my heart for Persija, work hard to adapt as quickly as possible, and make real contributions," he said via the club's official page. Persija Director Mohamad Prapanca added, "Alaeddine was brought in to make us stronger and sharper. We are very serious about stepping into the second round of the Super League."
This signing is expected to help Persija compete more fiercely at the top, amid increasingly tight competition.
