Prime Video cancels The Runarounds after one season

Prime Video has canceled its teen rock band drama The Runarounds after a single eight-episode season. Deadline reported the news, with TVLine reaching out to the streamer for confirmation. The series followed a group of high school graduates in Wilmington, North Carolina, pursuing their big break over one summer.

The Runarounds centered on a tight-knit band formed by recent high school graduates. Over the course of one unforgettable summer, the group threw themselves into the pursuit of fame, falling in love, getting into trouble, and forging family-like bonds, according to the official description. The show starred real-life musicians William Lipton, Axel Ellis, Jeremy Yun, Zendé Murdock, and Jesse Golliher as the band members, with Lilah Pate playing Sophia, the love interest of lead singer Charlie. Jonas Pate, known for Outer Banks, created the series. It debuted on Prime Video last September. Prime Video has not yet publicly confirmed the cancellation.
