Springboks coach Rassie Erasmus will lead his team for a record 55th time when they face Scotland at Loftus Versfeld on Saturday in the Nations Championship.
Erasmus has selected a side with 10 changes from last week's win over England. The starting XV has just 445 Test caps combined, less than half the total from the previous match.
Several players are set to make their first starts or returns, including scrumhalf Embrose Papier after a long absence. The coach said the focus remains only on performing against Scotland.
Scotland coach Gregor Townsend described the fixture as the biggest challenge in world rugby. His team arrives after a 48-37 win over Argentina last week.
Kick-off is at 5.40pm with Pierre Brousset as referee.
