Rockstar blocks Australian players from GTA Online casino

Grand Theft Auto Online players in Australia lost access to the Diamond Casino on July 28. Rockstar Games restricted gambling features including free wheel spins for users in the country. The change affects a mode introduced in 2019.

Players in Australia reported the restrictions on July 28. They could no longer place bets or spin the free wheel at the casino in Los Santos. A dataminer confirmed the block, and Rockstar implemented the change officially that day.

Users can still trade chips for items like clothing but cannot gamble further. The Diamond Casino launched in 2019 and already restricts similar features in Poland, Greece, Israel, Vietnam and Portugal due to local rules.

Australian players expressed frustration on forums. One called the ban "completely idiotic" while another noted ongoing real-world sports betting ads. Some voiced concerns that future Grand Theft Auto 6 online features might face the same limits.
