Samsung announces brighter Freestyle+ portable projector

Samsung has unveiled the Freestyle+, an upgraded version of its portable projector, featuring double the brightness and advanced AI optimization. The new model, set to debut at CES 2026, includes enhancements for better image quality on various surfaces. It targets a release in the first half of the year.

Samsung revealed the Freestyle+ ahead of CES 2026, marking an upgrade to its compact portable projector line. The device boasts twice the brightness of its predecessor, reaching 430 ISO lumens, which should improve visibility in varied lighting conditions. It retains core features like 180-degree rotation and 360-degree audio, while adding support for Q-Symphony integration with compatible Samsung soundbars.

A key highlight is the AI OptiScreen technology, which advances automatic adjustments. This includes 3D auto keystone correction to handle distortion on uneven or non-flat surfaces, real-time focus adjustments when the projector moves, automatic screen fitting for accessories, and wall calibration to minimize visual distractions from the projection surface. The Freestyle+ also incorporates Samsung's Vision AI Companion for further smart functionality.

The company has not disclosed full specifications or pricing details yet, but plans to showcase the projector at CES 2026, held in Las Vegas from January 6 to 9. Release is slated for the first half of 2026, rolling out in phases globally. This iteration builds on previous models' auto focus and leveling, making it smarter and more versatile for portable use.
