Sander Lak presents spring 2027 menswear collection inspired by Dutch roots

New York-based designer Sander Lak showed his spring 2027 menswear collection, drawing on memories of his teenage years spent in Holland.

Lak, born in Brunei and raised partly in Holland, described the collection as a wistful portrait of his motherland. He noted that he feels both an insider and outsider to the country.

The designs featured gradations of traffic cone orange, pale lilac and forest green. Lak explained that orange references Holland's royal family name and national events, while the other colors evoke skies, rain and grass.

Loose, informal shapes included twisted-front shirts carried over from last season, double-sleeved button-ups and a unisex skirt. Outerwear ranged from brown leather coats with patch pockets to green leather trenches and candy-colored shearlings.

The lookbook featured Lak's mother, a college friend, a neighbor's daughter and a local designer, giving it a casual, intimate feel.
