Saxophonist Jackiem Joyner releases new album Every Part of Me

Billboard chart-topping saxophonist Jackiem Joyner is set to release his new album, Every Part of Me, on January 16, 2026, through Shanachie Entertainment. The project marks his debut with the label and features collaborations with notable musicians. Joyner describes the album as a full expression of himself, drawing from his extensive career in contemporary jazz and beyond.

Jackiem Joyner, a saxophonist from Norfolk, Virginia, has built a storied career in contemporary jazz, with three Billboard number-one hits and eight top-five singles. He has collaborated with artists including Angela Bofill, Najee, Jean Carne, Ronnie Laws, Keiko Matsui, Peter White, and George Duke. Syracuse, New York, honored him with a Key to the City for his contributions to the genre. Joyner is also versatile across R&B, soul, blues, funk, and pop.

The upcoming album, Every Part of Me, represents Joyner's first release on Shanachie Entertainment, a label known for artists like KeKe Wyatt, Meshell Ndegeocello, Keiko Matsui, George Clinton, Kim Waters, and Paul Taylor. He signed with the label after a conversation with vice president Danny, who inquired about his musical direction. "I felt it was the right time (to sign)," Joyner said.

Joyner handles most of the production and arranging himself, with all tracks being originals. He teamed up with producer Timothy Bailey, Jr. on two songs: "Where I Belong" and "Silk." The album features musicians such as A. Ray Fuller and Kyle Bolden on guitar, Brian Simpson on piano, Brandon Harris on drums, Jermone Randall on bass, and mixer Gibert Fambro.

The title reflects Joyner's intent to share more of himself. "I perform all over the world and don’t give all of myself," he explained. "I did have something in mind." He aimed to give each song its unique space, allowing them to develop organically. "I try to give each song its own place," Joyner noted. "Each makes its own statement. The sequences come together nicely."

The first single, "Just Like That," featuring Brian Simpson, is already available. Joyner began his musical journey intending to play drums but switched to saxophone at age 13, finding it fresh and rewarding.

Beyond music, Joyner is an author with works like the science fiction novel Zarya: Cydnus Final Hope, recognized by the Silver Literary Titan Awards, and the guidebook How to Turn Your Music Talent into a Six-Figure Income Machine. He runs Babysoul Music Productions and Babysoul Music label.
