Lego unveiled its official Pokémon collaboration on January 13, 2026, introducing sets featuring iconic characters from the franchise. The centerpiece is a detailed model of Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise, comprising over 6,800 pieces and retailing for $649.99 in the US or £579.99 in the UK. Pre-orders for this set sold out quickly, with buyers of the first 21,840 units in the US and 8,500 in the UK receiving a free Lego Pokémon Kanto Region Badge Collection, valued at around £25 by Lego.
Almost immediately, scalpers began flooding resale sites like eBay. The full starters set is now listed for $800 to over $1,000, more than enough to purchase multiple gaming consoles. Some listings bundle the badge collection, while others offer individual Pokémon figures, though Lego does not sell them separately at retail. The badge collection alone is appearing on eBay for over £100, with many listings already sold despite the items not shipping until February 27, 2026—the date marking Pokémon's 30th anniversary.
Smaller sets, such as a Pikachu model with a Poké Ball and a posable Eevee figure, are also available but have not sold out in the US, allowing purchase at original prices.
