Sirius supporter fined for throwing flare over Fyrisån

An IK Sirius supporter has been ordered to pay 5,700 kronor in fines after throwing back a flare during the April Arosderby against Västerås SK.

After the match that IK Sirius won 4-1, supporters from both teams were escorted along the Fyrisån river in Uppsala. A VSK supporter lit a flare and threw it across the river toward the Sirius fans. Someone in that group picked it up and threw it back.

The flare landed in the water. The supporter who threw it back has admitted the act but stated that it was not his flare. He has now been convicted of violating the law on flammable and explosive goods.

Three other reports were filed in connection with the match. All have been closed without being forwarded to a prosecutor. It remains unclear whether any of them concerned the person who first threw the flare.
