The ceremony began with Sheikh Ahmed Tamim Al-Maraghi reciting verses from the Holy Quran, after which President Sisi greeted all attendees. Sisi watched a documentary titled 'Land of Peace,' where writer Osama Al-Dalil described peace as rare as gold worth fighting for, highlighting Egypt's ability to enforce peace. Writer Hind Al-Dawwi stated that Egypt decided to go to war on October 6, 1973, to regain its territories, but the goal was never to sustain it, stressing that power is indispensable for enforcing peace.
The event included a theatrical performance on the army's role in defending the homeland, and actress Esaad Younis thanked President Sisi for his role in bringing peace and stability to Egypt and the region, praising the outcomes of his recent visit to Belgium. Younis said: "On behalf of 100 million Egyptians and more… I extend to you my deepest gratitude, love, and appreciation for your contribution to maintaining peace, which cannot be achieved as a coincidence or offered as a gift, but results from wise decisions, awareness, and sacrifice."
Documentaries covered the Egyptian army in ancient times and the achievements of late President Mohamed Anwar El-Sadat in the 1973 October War, the peace decision, and his Knesset visit. Archaeologist Zahi Hawass said Egypt taught the world peace for 3,000 years, as Ramses II signed the first treaty with the Hittites. Prof. Sir Magdi Yacoub affirmed Egypt's dedication to peace since antiquity, while Pope Tawadros II noted Egypt as a land of peace, citing the Holy Family's journey and its support for Palestinians, including the Sharm El Sheikh Peace Agreement.
Another documentary highlighted Sinai residents' heroism, including Mrs. Widad Khalil who carried secret messages. Grand Imam Ahmed el Tayyeb expressed Al-Azhar's support for Sisi and Egypt's stance on Palestine. The film 'Egypt…The Road Back' featured Palestinian girl Reenaj's story of surviving Gaza bombings and receiving treatment in Egypt, where she met and was embraced by Sisi.
In his speech, Sisi said he expected difficult days for Palestinians in Gaza since the war's start, emphasizing responsible decision-making after two years of war and displacement attempts. He stated: "I have always said that we are certain that Allah Almighty will stand by us, and that one day the problem will end and there will be a way out." He praised the Sharm El Sheikh Summit as "a great blessing from Allah Almighty," and directed ministries to organize youth trips to Sinai to raise awareness of state achievements there. Sisi extended greetings to Egyptians and attendees.
