São Paulo governor Tarcísio de Freitas said Fernando Haddad was the best finance minister in Paraguay's history due to Brazil's high tax burden.
Tarcísio made the remarks during an interview with the Pânico program on Jovem Pan radio on June 1, 2026. He criticized Haddad's tenure at the Finance Ministry, citing companies that moved to Paraguay and a seven-point rise in the debt-to-GDP ratio.
The governor denied any ties to banker Daniel Vorcaro of Banco Master. He said there were no meetings in São Paulo and no investments by state pension funds in the bank's CDBs.
Tarcísio also reaffirmed support for Flávio Bolsonaro's presidential candidacy and agreed with the US decision to designate gangs like PCC and Comando Vermelho as terrorist organizations.
