A recent teardown shows the Trump Mobile T1 is nearly identical to the HTC U24 Pro. The analysis by iFixit found only minor differences in battery capacity and external design. Most components originate from China despite initial claims of US manufacturing.
iFixit examined the Trump Mobile T1 after acquiring a unit first obtained by NBC News. The device shares the same Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset, 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 512GB storage as the HTC U24 Pro.
The only functional variation is a battery with slightly higher capacity that supports 30W charging instead of 60W. Cosmetic changes include gold paint, shifted camera placement and a different speaker hole pattern.
Trump Mobile has revised its statements from "made in the USA" to "proudly assembled in the US" with about 10 components put together domestically. The battery comes from the Philippines while the majority of parts are sourced from China.
iFixit concluded the T1 was designed in China and produced there using existing production lines.
