Carabineros' OS9 unit detained three minors linked to disorders at the Internado Nacional Barros Arana in October. The teenagers, aged 14, 15, and 16, were identified using surveillance cameras and face charges related to explosives offenses. The events took place in Santiago commune.
On the afternoon of this Thursday, Carabineros' OS9 unit detained three students from the Internado Nacional Barros Arana (INBA), all minors. The youths, aged 14, 15, and 16, were linked to multiple incendiary attacks against police personnel near the school in Santiago commune.
The investigation focused on disorders recorded on October 2, 13, 20, and 22 of this year. Through analysis of surveillance cameras from the Municipality of Santiago, police established the teenagers' responsibilities in these incidents, which involved Molotov cocktails thrown at Carabineros.
The minors were then placed under detention control by order of the Public Ministry. They face charges for offenses related to the Firearms and Explosives Control Law, amid ongoing tensions in Chile's educational sector.
