Three landslide victims in arjasari bandung still missing

Three residents remain buried under a landslide in Arjasari subdistrict, Bandung regency, since Friday and have not been found as of Monday. Search efforts are hindered by heavy rain, according to the local disaster agency head. A joint team of 100 personnel is set to resume operations today.

A landslide struck on Friday (December 5, 2025) on the slopes of Mount Sinapeul in Arjasari subdistrict, Bandung regency, caused by soil displacement up to 80 meters high triggered by high rainfall. The disaster affected four to five residents' homes, impacting four people. The three missing victims are Aisyah (70 years old), Citra (19 years old), and Alfa (15 years old), while Ramdan (15 years old) was rescued with a head injury and treated at Nambo Hospital.

Head of Bandung Regency's Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD), Wahyudin, stated that heavy equipment was deployed yesterday but operations were halted due to rain. "Not yet (victims found), yesterday heavy equipment entered but was hampered by rain so the process was temporarily stopped," he said on Monday (December 8, 2025). A joint search and rescue (SAR) team of 100 personnel on rotation, coordinated by Basarnas, is scheduled to resume searching today.

Pameungpeuk police chief, AKP Asep Dedi, explained that the landslide suddenly buried residents' homes. "Three people are still buried and one survived with a head injury," he said. Poor weather conditions continue to pose the main challenge in rescue efforts, while locals express concerns for the victims' safety.
