Trans collectives occupy SEGOB hall and demand dialogue with Rosa Icela Rodríguez

Trans community activists occupied a hall at the Secretaría de Gobernación to request a meeting with Secretary Rosa Icela Rodríguez. The protest stems from a lack of agreements and policies addressing structural violence.

The occupation of the hall began at 5:56 a.m. after a march along Bucareli Avenue. The protesters stated they would not leave until they secured a meeting date with the official.

One activist noted that the sit-in also represents Las Abuelas Trans and that requested justice has not been delivered. Victoria Sámano said they remain inside the agency because no meeting date has been provided.

Participating groups include Justicia Histórica and Lleca. The action takes place during LGBTIQA+ Pride Month amid reports of transfeminicides this year.
