Valve warns Steam Controller orders may ship in 2027

Valve has told customers that some new orders for its Steam Controller may not arrive until 2027 due to high demand. Existing orders face deadlines in September or December 2026. The company said it will ship as many units as possible this year.

Valve issued the update after the Steam Controller sold out quickly following its launch. The company described the situation as one where initial demand exceeded expectations.

Users with pending orders can check their Steam account pages for specific fulfillment dates. Additional orders placed now are listed as expected in 2027.

A Valve spokesperson noted that the firm is comparing current demand against production capacity through the end of the year. The company aims to manage customer expectations while fulfilling as many devices as it can.

The Steam Controller is designed to work exclusively with Steam. Valve is also preparing to release its Steam Machine PC and Steam Frame headset this summer.
