The PeopleMover, which opened in 1975, is known for offering guests a relaxing tour above Tomorrowland with views of attractions including Space Mountain. The video shows smoke and flames visible near the ride system while guests watch from nearby. Chappell reposted the clip on X with the caption “That can’t be good…” and noted the timing. Fans reacted with jokes and expressions of concern, referencing the attraction’s history and calling it a beloved classic. This marks the second attraction-related fire discussion at Magic Kingdom in 2026, following earlier reports involving Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. Separate fire alerts were also reported near Fantasyland on June 8 and transportation areas on June 9. Disney has not commented on the PeopleMover footage, and there are no indications of significant damage or extended closures.
