Ahmedabad crime branch arrests woman and lover in Gujarat murder case

The Ahmedabad Crime Branch has arrested a woman and her lover for allegedly killing her husband and dumping his body in a canal. The case came to light after a failed murder-for-hire attempt and months of deception involving a fake photo.

The arrests follow an investigation into the death of Kantilal Bharat Sabaria, whose body was found in the Surendranagar canal. According to authorities, Jagruti Goswami and Shantigiri Goswami were taken into custody after evidence showed they had plotted the killing.

Investigators revealed that the woman had initially hired a contract killer but was deceived with a staged photograph claiming the murder had occurred. She then allegedly carried out the crime with her lover.

The Ahmedabad Crime Branch stated that the deception unravelled over several months before the arrests were made on the basis of new leads and evidence collected at the scene.
