Club América officially announced on Tuesday the departure of Dutch player Javairo Dilrosun after nearly two years with the team, freeing up a foreign player spot in Liga MX. The transfer market for Clausura 2026 has been quiet for América's Eagles, with only three additions so far and no prior departures before this announcement. Through its social media, the club confirmed the release of Javairo Dilrosun, who joined in February 2024 from Feyenoord in the Netherlands with high expectations, backed by his history at clubs like Hertha Berlin, Bordeaux, and the youth teams of Manchester City and Ajax.
During his time, Dilrosun played 52 matches, scoring 3 goals and providing 8 assists. One of his goals was pivotal in the Supercopa MX win against Tigres in summer 2024. With América, he won four titles: two Liga MX, one Campeón de Campeones, and one Supercopa MX, though without the expected impact from the board, technical staff, and fans.
For Apertura 2025, he was not registered with the first team and trained with the Sub-21, after a brief loan to LAFC in MLS during the Club World Cup, where he also failed to impress. In Clausura 2026, he remained out of Jardine's plans. América had 11 Non-Formed in Mexico (NFM) players, exceeding the limit, making it urgent to free spots. His contract ran until December 2026, but it was terminated due to lack of options for a new club.

Now with 10 NFM left, América must release another foreigner, likely Chilean defender Igor Lichnovsky, who is also not in plans and was not registered, though he continues training at Coapa without joining the first team.
