Basement announces first album in eight years

English rock band Basement has revealed plans for their first new album since 2016. Titled WIRED, the record is set for release on May 8 through Run For Cover Records. It features 12 tracks, with two singles already out: the title song "WIRED" and "Broken By Design."

The announcement marks a significant return for Basement, the English rock outfit known for their post-hardcore sound. After an eight-year gap in full-length releases, the band shared details of WIRED, which will contain a total of 12 songs. This project reunites them with Run For Cover Records, the label behind some of their earlier work.

Fans can now stream the lead singles "WIRED" and "Broken By Design," both dropped alongside the album reveal. These tracks hint at the band's evolved style, blending raw energy with introspective lyrics, though specifics on the remaining songs remain under wraps until closer to the release date.

Basement, formed in 2010, gained a dedicated following with albums like I Lay My Bones Down and Colourmeinkindness before a hiatus. This comeback album arrives amid a vibrant scene for rock revivals, but the band has kept promotional details minimal so far. The May 8 launch positions WIRED as a spring highlight for alternative music listeners.
