Bettis hopes Allar learns from Rodgers during 2026 season

Former Steelers running back Jerome Bettis said Drew Allar should make the most of his chance to learn from Aaron Rodgers in 2026.

Bettis noted that most NFL rookies, especially quarterbacks, are used to being starters and leaders on their teams. He emphasized that Allar faces a different path by sitting behind Rodgers.

"Hopefully he can pick up a whole lot. When you have a Hall of Fame player at your position in the building, you should soak up everything you can," Bettis said in an interview with Action Network’s DJ Siddiqi.

Bettis added that the situation offers Allar a rare opportunity to build his skills. He pointed to Will Howard as an example of a player who fully embraced learning from Rodgers last season.

Allar has already begun interacting with Rodgers, saying the veteran has pulled him aside during practice to discuss drills and focus areas. Coach Mike McCarthy has stressed developing the entire quarterback room.
