Several Colombian business groups denounced blockades on the Cali-Buenaventura road that have now lasted four days and affect foreign trade at the main Pacific port.
Colfecar reported that 17 blockades have been recorded on this corridor so far in 2026, two of them involving violent incidents. The road moves 4,634 cargo vehicles and 55,698 tons of goods daily.
The Comité Intergremial y Empresarial del Valle del Cauca warned of natural gas shortages in Buenaventura and the buildup of 7,800 tons of daily inputs. It estimated daily losses between 10,000 and 12,000 million pesos for local commerce.
Fedetranscarga stated that thousands of transporters remain stranded without decent conditions and that operating expenses exceed advances received. The organizations called for immediate intervention by the Ministry of Transport and other authorities to restore mobility.
