CCTV footage shows armed robbery in Ruaka salon

A CCTV recording captured an armed man robbing a salon in Ruaka, Kiambu County, on Friday afternoon. The attacker brandished a pistol, fired a warning shot and escaped on a waiting motorbike with one phone. No arrests have been made.

The two-minute clip, recorded on July 10 at about 2 p.m., shows a masked man in green overalls approaching the salon on foot. He confronted two women outside, ordered them to surrender their phones and fired a shot into the air when they screamed.

One woman was forced inside at gunpoint while the other escaped. Inside the salon, six people hid as the gunman seized another woman and demanded valuables. He soon fled amid growing crowds, firing more shots before riding away on a motorbike.

A victim said the robbery did not appear ordinary. She added that only one phone was taken. As of Sunday evening, police had not reported any arrests in the case.
