Central Sulawesi law office registers copyrights for 37 Balai Bahasa works

The Central Sulawesi Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights has registered copyrights for 37 works owned by the provincial Language Center throughout 2025. This achievement stems from inter-agency collaboration to safeguard intellectual property. The office head emphasized the importance of legal protection for regional cultural works.

Palu, Central Sulawesi – The Central Sulawesi Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkum) has successfully registered intellectual property in the form of copyrights for 37 creative works owned by the provincial Language Center throughout 2025.

Head of the Kanwil Kemenkum Central Sulawesi, Rakhmat Renaldy, stated this in his remarks in Palu on Sunday (November 9, 2025). He described the achievement as the result of productive inter-agency synergy and collaboration to strengthen public awareness of the importance of intellectual property.

“This collaboration is a real example that intellectual property protection cannot stand alone. When educational institutions and government unite, community works will be safer and have economic value,” he said.

The registered works cover various fields, from literary works, linguistic research, to educational creations supporting the preservation of regional languages in Central Sulawesi. Rakhmat Renaldy expressed appreciation to the Central Sulawesi Provincial Language Center for its contribution in raising awareness to protect works from violations or piracy.

As a token of appreciation, Kemenkum Central Sulawesi handed over a Cipta Karya certificate to the Language Center during the Festival Tunas Bahasa Ibu event. The regional office continues to educate the public on the high value of intellectual property as an asset for regional development.

Looking ahead, Kemenkum Central Sulawesi will expand networks of cooperation with academic institutions, arts communities, and local governments to enhance legal awareness of copyrights.

“Every work is an intellectual heritage that must be protected. With legal protection, the work will last longer and bring benefits to its creator,” added Rakhmat Renaldy.
