Chiki Fawzi recounts experience on Gaza humanitarian mission

Chiki Fawzi described her experience sailing on the Global Sumud Flotilla 2 mission aimed at breaking the Gaza blockade.

Chiki Fawzi said the journey began in Barcelona and lasted two months with stops including Augusta in Sicily and Turkey.

She stated the mission vessel was intercepted in international waters near Greece. She claimed the action violated international law because it occurred far outside Israeli territory.

Chiki was not on the vessel during the incident. She monitored the situation from a crisis center in Istanbul via CCTV.

A total of 11 Indonesians took part in the mission including nine other delegates and coordinator Uni Maimun. Chiki said the goal was to break Israel's illegal blockade around Gaza.
