Chronoswiss unveils moon-inspired Lunar Chronograph Aurora and Space Timer Gravity

Swiss watchmaker Chronoswiss has introduced two new timepieces drawing inspiration from the Moon: the Lunar Chronograph Aurora and the Space Timer Gravity. The Lunar Chronograph Aurora reimagines a classic model with a dial evoking the aurora borealis, while the Space Timer Gravity features a cosmic design with a detailed lunar engraving. Both watches blend traditional complications with modern aesthetics.

Chronoswiss, known for its distinctive watch designs, has launched the Lunar Chronograph Aurora as a fresh take on its original Lunar Chronograph from 1999. This model combines a chronograph, date, and moonphase indicator in a balanced layout. The dial features a CVD coating that shifts from deep green to vibrant blue, mimicking the aurora borealis. At the center, a seconds hand tracks elapsed time, supported by a 30-minute counter and a 12-hour totalizer. The moonphase appears at 3 o'clock, with an analog date along the outer edge and a sub-seconds register at 9 o'clock for symmetry.

Housed in a 41mm by 15mm polished stainless steel case, the watch includes Chronoswiss's signature onion crown and screwed lugs. It offers 100 meters of water resistance and comes on a gray nubuck strap. Powering it is the automatic Chronoswiss C.755 movement, derived from the ETA 7750, operating at 4 Hz with a 46-hour power reserve. The movement, visible through a sapphire case back, displays refined finishing like Côtes de Genève on the rotor and perlage on bridges.

In contrast, the Space Timer Gravity presents a more adventurous cosmic theme in a limited edition of 50 pieces. Its 44mm by 15.2mm brushed stainless steel case frames a partially hand-guilloché dial with a CVD coating transitioning from deep green to oceanic blue. A laser-engraved Moon topography, based on a NASA photograph, appears in relief on the left side. Transparent ITR2 rings for hours and date hover above, revealing a baby-blue bridge and exposed gear train beneath.

The automatic C.308 movement, modified from the ETA 2895, runs at 4 Hz with a 42-hour power reserve and drives hours, minutes, date, and moonphase. It attaches to a moon-gray nubuck strap, enhancing the space-like feel. Both watches highlight Chronoswiss's commitment to high-end craftsmanship while exploring celestial motifs.
