Climber falls several meters near Hirschbach

A 69-year-old climber was severely injured near Hirschbach after falling several meters on Friday afternoon.

The accident occurred on a popular climbing route in the Amberg-Sulzbach district. Mountain rescue recovered the injured man from the hard-to-reach site.

A rescue helicopter then flew the man to a hospital. The cause of the fall remains unclear.

Polizeiinspektion Auerbach in der Oberpfalz is investigating with support from a specialist in mountain and climbing accidents.
