Duffer brothers' wedding horror series sets Netflix release

Netflix has announced a March premiere for 'Something Very Bad Is About to Happen,' an atmospheric horror limited series executive-produced by Stranger Things creators Matt and Ross Duffer. The eight-episode show follows a bride and groom in the week before their ill-fated wedding. It stars Camila Morrone and Adam DiMarco, among others.

The limited series 'Something Very Bad Is About to Happen' will premiere all eight episodes on Netflix on Thursday, March 26. Created and showrun by Haley Z. Boston, the atmospheric horror is set at a wedding and tracks a bride and groom during the tense week leading to their nuptials, which are described as ill-fated in Netflix's official logline. Executive producers include the Duffer brothers, known for 'Stranger Things,' along with director Weronika Tofilska, Hilary Leavitt, and Andrea Sperling. Boston draws from personal inspirations for the theme, telling Tudum: 'When I was a kid, my mom said to me, 'You just need to make sure you don't marry the wrong person.' [This show] is about the fear of marrying the wrong person. I've been to weddings where people say in their vows, 'I never once had a doubt.' I hear that, and I'm like, 'That's crazy ... What do you mean?'' The cast features Camila Morrone from 'Daisy Jones & The Six,' Adam DiMarco of 'Overcompensating,' Jeff Wilbusch ('Unorthodox'), Karla Crome ('Carnival Row'), Gus Birney ('Shining Vale'), Jennifer Jason Leigh ('Fargo'), Ted Levine ('The Alienist'), and Sawyer Fraser ('The Good Doctor'). No trailer has been released yet, though first-look photos are available. This marks another horror venture for the Duffers following their success with 'Stranger Things.'
