Electoral board rejects Vox request against HazteOir

Andalusia's Electoral Board has dismissed Vox's request to keep HazteOir members away from its campaign events. The body argues the measure would affect fundamental rights such as free movement and expression.

The incident that prompted the request occurred on May 14 in a town in Almería. HazteOir members approached a Vox rally to protest the party's failure to honor commitments in defense of life.

Vox had asked the Electoral Board for preventive measures, citing systematic harassment and a boycott of its events. Santiago Abascal's party described the ultraconservative association's actions as aimed at disrupting political rights.

In its response, the Electoral Board, chaired by José Ángel Vázquez, stated that the dispute has no electoral nature. It recommends that Vox contact the police or Civil Guard directly in case of public order issues.

HazteOir defended its gatherings as a legitimate exercise of freedom of expression and peaceful assembly, supported by Constitutional Court jurisprudence during electoral periods.
