Following the announcement of Muse's 10th album 'The WOW! Signal' (June 26 via Warner), fans have shared mixed reactions to the second preview single 'Be With You', released March 19. Praise highlights the band's versatility, while critics call for bolder songwriting.
The single 'Be With You'—following 2025's 'Unravelling' and previewing the album after 2022's 'Will Of The People'—blends a grand church organ intro, electronica, and guitar rock. Fan responses vary widely online. On YouTube, enthusiasts praised: “Muse doesn’t need a genre, they are a genre,” and “It’s like ‘Something Human’ and ‘Invincible’ had a baby!” An X user enthused: “The Best Band on the planet is back! What an intro and outro. I love your versatility and I can’t wait to hear the rest of the album. You changed my life in so many ways and I’ll always ‘Be With You’.”
Contrastingly, r/Muse subreddit users were more critical. One wrote: “Muse need to take more risks with their songwriting.” Another noted: “I don’t get their new obsession with lightly dipping the tip into a riff and then immediately pulling out in the recent songs.” A long-time fan lamented: “I just kept waiting for the song to hit, to scratch the itch so to speak, and it never happened. Just not exciting or memorable.” One more said: “This is so bad. Coming over ‘Unravelling’ I was so hoping for the same heavy vibe.”
These reactions underscore anticipation and debate ahead of the full album.
