Federal agents discovered two young children in a squalid Philadelphia house during a search warrant execution related to alleged threats against the White House. The 5-year-old girl and 8-month-old baby were found with bruises and bug bites amid dozens of animals and no running water.
FBI agents arrived at the Northern Philadelphia residence on Tuesday to serve a warrant tied to terroristic threats. Inside, they located 43-year-old Thomas Bach and 44-year-old Megan Bach along with their two daughters. The home contained about 40 cats and a dog, along with garbage and feces.
Animal control removed the living animals, and a hazmat team was called due to the strong odor. Both adults were taken into custody. The children received medical evaluation and are now under state Department of Human Services care.
Thomas Bach and Megan Bach face charges of endangering the welfare of a child and recklessly endangering another person. Thomas Bach additionally faces conspiracy and weapons-related counts. His court hearing is scheduled for July 20. The federal investigation continues.
