Former GHOST9 member Brad comes out as gay in Instagram video

Brad, the former Dongjun from boy group GHOST9, posted an Instagram video detailing his idol life that fans interpreted as a coming out statement. The clip mentioned missing a phone, days off, money and a boyfriend, complete with an eggplant emoji.

Brad re-debuted under his new name in 2025 after leaving GHOST9, which Maroo Entertainment launched in 2020 with nine members. Dongjun and Taeseung departed a year later, leaving the group as seven.

In the video Brad described the restrictions he faced as an active idol and listed “no boyfriend” alongside the other absences. Observers noted the lack of any mention of a girlfriend, reading it as a public declaration.

Social media users reacted quickly. One post stated “ofc an ex GHOST9 member is gay,” while another called the moment “really funny considering how bad kpoppies gaydar usually is.” The original post remained online at the time of reporting.

Some viewers questioned whether the line was simply engagement bait, yet no official statement from the artist or former agency has addressed the clip.
