Graphic novel we are pan scheduled for june release

Andre frattino's graphic novel we are pan, illustrated by yasmin flores montañez, is set to be published on june 2. The book recounts operation pedro pan, an american program that brought cuban children to the united states during fidel castro's rule. Frattino interviewed many participants directly for the project.

The graphic novel presents the story through the perspectives of now-grown individuals who took part in the program. Frattino noted that unlike his prior work tokyo rose: zero hour, this subject allowed him to speak with living participants and capture their emotions in real time. He described the writing as deeper and more personal as a result.
