Ambient musician Grouper has lined up six performances across North America this September. The shows will take place in concert halls, theaters, and churches in cities including Chicago, New York, and Washington, D.C. Fans can expect a career-spanning setlist featuring tracks from her 2021 album Shade.
Grouper, known for her ambient sound, revealed plans for a mini tour on April 22, as first reported by Pitchfork. The six dates kick off on September 6 at the Sound & Gravity Festival in Chicago, Illinois. Subsequent performances include The Concert Hall in Toronto on September 8, Theatre Outremont in Montreal on September 10, Old Dutch Church in Kingston, New York on September 12, Town Hall in New York City on September 16, and Lincoln Theatre in Washington, D.C. on September 19. These venues highlight a mix of intimate and historic spaces suited to her atmospheric style. It remains unclear whether the tour supports new material. However, based on her 2024 setlists, audiences are likely to hear selections from her discography, including the 2021 release Shade. Last year, Grouper marked the 20th anniversary of her debut album Way Their Crept with a reissue. The announcement revives interest in her live performances, which have been infrequent.
