Korean midfielder Hwang In-beom has recovered from multiple injuries and is preparing with the national team in Utah for the FIFA World Cup starting June 11.
Hwang In-beom, 29, who plays for Feyenoord, missed much of his club season after injuring his calf in September, his thigh in November and his ankle in March. The Korea Football Association provided medical support during his rehabilitation.
Speaking at the Zions Bank Training Center in Herriman, Utah, on Sunday, Hwang said he is nearly fit. "I can jump into training with the rest of the squad right away. There's no need for concern," he told reporters.
Korea will play friendlies against Trinidad and Tobago on Saturday and El Salvador on June 3 before facing Czechia on June 11 in Guadalajara. Hwang aims for the team to reach the quarterfinals, improving on their round-of-16 finish at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
