Isack Hadjar recovered from a 30-place grid penalty to finish sixth in the Belgian Grand Prix. Sky Sports pundits Bernie Collins and Karun Chandhok praised the Red Bull driver's teamwork and strategy.
Hadjar started from 21st on the grid after exceeding his power unit allocation. He provided a tow to teammate Max Verstappen during qualifying to support the team.
Chandhok highlighted Hadjar's initiative on the radio. "I was asking some of the Red Bull guys on the grid about the slipstream yesterday, and they said Isack came on the radio and said, 'Look, I know what you guys want, you want me to give Max the best slipstream, don't micromanage it from the pitwall, I will keep an eye on my battery, I'll keep an eye on the mirrors, and I'll do it,' and he did it," Chandhok said.
In the race Hadjar climbed to sixth place through a strong strategy. Collins noted his defensive work against Lando Norris during a long stint.
Hadjar sits eighth in the drivers' championship with 60 points. Verstappen is seventh with 91 points while Kimi Antonelli leads with 204 after winning from pole.
