Kenny Omega captured the AEW World Championship for a second time on the July 8 episode of AEW Dynamite: Beach Break. Jim Ross expressed hopes that the new champion will enjoy an extended reign rather than lose the title quickly.
Omega defeated MJF to claim the title on the Beach Break edition of the show. The victory marks his return to the top of the promotion as a two-time world champion.
Speaking on his Grilling JR podcast, Ross said he hopes the outcome is not a passing of the torch. He added that he would like to see Omega receive a fair, long, and productive run, though he does not know Tony Khan's plans.
Omega is scheduled to defend the championship against Will Ospreay at All In: London on August 30. Ross noted that Wembley Stadium would be an ideal setting if Ospreay is to defeat him.
