Tommaso Ciampa, who spent nearly a decade in WWE including four years on the main roster, has expressed his desire to work with more elite wrestlers now that he is in AEW.
Ciampa was primarily teamed with Johnny Gargano during his WWE main roster time, focusing on tag team matches. He told James Stewart on Stick To Sports that he felt he missed opportunities to share the ring on television with wrestlers such as AJ Styles, Sami Zayn, Kevin Owens, Seth Rollins, Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns.
“My biggest goal, and I said it to Tony early on, is that I just want to check off the checklist,” Ciampa said. “I feel like I spent the last ten years, specifically when I was on the main roster where I had this checklist and I never felt like I checked it.”
Ciampa will face Chris Jericho at AEW Redemption. He also reflected on his storyline with Gargano during the interview.
