Land at Dikarbacken leased to private actor after 13 years

On April 21, Falun municipality decided to lease the land at Dikarbacken to a private actor. The move ends 13 years of provisional arrangements for the area near Falu Naturskola.

Staff at the nature school express concern that unique expertise and an important meeting place may disappear. They highlight the risk of losing established operations when the land is transferred.

The municipality instead stresses the need for changes. It cites practical reasons such as animal responsibility and long-term development of the area.

The Dikarbacken issue has been discussed for over a decade. The process is now approaching a conclusion, although several details about the handover remain to be clarified.
