The LG Twins clinched the 2025 Korean Series title with a 4-1 victory over the Hanwha Eagles in Game 5 on Oct. 31 in Daejeon. It marks their second championship in three years, with veteran outfielder Kim Hyun-soo earning MVP honors. Pitcher Anders Tolhurst delivered seven strong innings for the win.

The LG Twins secured their second Korean Series championship in three years by defeating the Hanwha Eagles 4-1 in Game 5 of the best-of-seven series on Oct. 31 at Daejeon Hanwha Life Ballpark. This marks the Twins' fourth KBO title overall, following victories in 1990, 1994, and 2023. With the league's best regular-season record of 85-56-3, the Twins won Games 1 (8-2) and 2 (13-5) at home in Seoul's Jamsil Baseball Stadium, lost Game 3 (3-7) after surrendering six runs in the eighth, but rallied with six ninth-inning runs in Game 4 (7-4) to take a 3-1 lead.

Veteran outfielder Kim Hyun-soo was named MVP after batting .529 (9-for-17) with eight RBIs and five walks, tying teammate Moon Bo-gyeong for the team lead. In Game 5, he collected three hits, including two RBIs—a single in the first and another in the sixth—driving in half the Twins' runs. His nine hits in the series made him the all-time KBO postseason hits leader with 105, surpassing Hong Sung-heon's 101. "This is my 20th year in baseball, and I didn't ever think a day like this would ever come," Kim said. "I'm lucky to be surrounded by such great teammates."

Starting pitcher Anders Tolhurst earned the win with seven innings of one-run ball, going 2-0 with a 2.08 ERA in the series. He loaded the bases in the second but allowed just one run on Lee Won-suk's groundout, then retired 10 straight batters before the seventh. Relievers Kim Jin-sung and You Young-chan pitched scoreless innings to close it out. "I didn't have this one on the bingo card, but it's an amazing feeling," Tolhurst said.

Twins manager Youm Kyoung-youb, who lost 9kg during the season, called it a full team effort and plans to prepare for another title. Eagles manager Kim Kyung-moon, securing his fifth runner-up finish, lamented the loss but congratulated the Twins. The victory sparks dynasty discussions in the KBO, last seen with the 2015-16 Doosan Bears.
