Man sentenced ten years after fatal crash that killed Clas Jacobsson

A man has been sentenced to 18 months in prison for a 2016 traffic accident on the E4 that killed Clas Jacobsson (M). The crash occurred during Easter and the ruling comes after a lengthy legal process.

The sentence was handed down on 19 May 2026 for gross causing of another's death. Clas Jacobsson, a former opposition councillor in Dalarna, died with his partner Nina Lagh when a car swerved at high speed into their path between Kista and Sollentuna.

The trial was originally set for 2017 but was postponed after the suspect failed to appear. Several other charges have become statute-barred over the past decade.

Jacobsson was 54 years old. Borlänge Tidning was first to report the ruling.
