Mercedes to bring F1 pitstop challenge to Goodwood Festival of Speed

Mercedes has announced its plans for the Goodwood Festival of Speed, featuring reserve driver Frederik Vesti and interactive fan activities. The team will showcase its W13 car and introduce a new paddock hub concept.

Mercedes Formula 1 team will feature reserve driver Frederik Vesti at the upcoming Goodwood Festival of Speed. Vesti is scheduled to drive the W13, which will carry the team's 2026 livery, up the 1.17-mile hillclimb from Friday to Sunday.

Away from the track, the team will set up an open-plan paddock hub modeled after a live F1 garage. This installation serves as a pilot for similar setups at grands prix later this year.

Fans can use racing simulators and attempt a pitstop challenge on a 2018 W09 chassis. Current and former Mercedes mechanics will coach participants aiming for a sub-two-second tyre change.

"I’m very excited to be attending this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed," Vesti said. "It will be my third time at the festival; I can’t wait to be in the car, taking on the hillclimb, and experiencing all that Goodwood has to offer."
