The New York Mets overcame a late deficit to defeat the New York Yankees 7-6 in 10 innings on Sunday at Citi Field. Tyrone Taylor's three-run homer in the ninth tied the game, and Carson Benge delivered the winning run in the bottom of the 10th.
The Mets trailed for much of the afternoon but mounted a dramatic comeback. With two outs in the ninth and their win probability at just 5 percent, Taylor hooked a three-run homer around the left-field foul pole to knot the score at 6-6. An inning later, Benge's fielder's choice scored the decisive run after two Yankees infielders collided on the play.
