Mexico government meets CNTE without central agreements

Federal authorities held a tripartite meeting with CNTE Section 22 on May 29 without progress on key demands.

Secretary of the Interior Rosa Icela Rodríguez led the meeting with CNTE representatives, Oaxaca Governor Salomón Jara, SEP head Mario Delgado and ISSSTE director Martí Batres.

Section 22 leader Yenny Aracely Pérez stated that official responses did not address the central points of the 79-demand petition.

From June 1 the CNTE will carry out further mobilizations in Mexico City, focusing on the repeal of the 2007 ISSSTE Law and retirement issues.

Teachers will present details at the State Assembly to be installed in the capital from that date.
