Missouri woman charged in fatal stabbing of 93-year-old

A 27-year-old Missouri woman has been charged with first-degree murder in the death of a 93-year-old woman found in her shower.

Kelisha Reeves stands accused in the death of Diana Barco. The incidents occurred between June 8 and June 9 at a residence on Briarcliff Road in Kansas City.

Authorities responded to the home on June 9 after a care worker discovered Barco face down in the shower. She had multiple stab wounds to the head and neck and appeared to have been strangled. A showerhead was wrapped around her body.

Reeves was arrested on June 13 in Jasper County, about 150 miles south of Kansas City. She was linked to the case through nearby crimes, including an arson and property damage incident on June 8. A credit card belonging to Barco was found with Reeves.

Reeves is being held in the Clay County Jail on $1 million bond. She is scheduled to appear in court on June 30.
