New Balance releases rich gray 1954 sneaker

New Balance has launched an all-gray U1954 sneaker in 2026. The model stands out for its deeper monochrome tone compared to the brand's typical lighter gray offerings.

The 1954 draws inspiration from the 2002 and 1906 models, with its name reflecting their average. Released this year, the shoe features a sporty build resembling a techy runner rather than a classic dad shoe.

Its gray colorway uses a richer slate tone across the laces, outsole and suede N logo. This creates a consistent monochrome look unlike the heather-gray shades seen on models such as the 990 or 475.

The design maintains New Balance's association with gray sneakers while introducing a distinct somber palette.
