Phoebe Green has announced her second album, Premature Nostalgia, along with the lead single There's Always Someone Kicking The Seat.
The Manchester singer-songwriter will release the follow-up to her 2022 debut Lucky Me on October 2 via The Green Dream Machine/Absolute. The album was written and produced with her sister Lucy Green, also known as Elucyve.
The single features electronic rhythms and Green's mix of spoken-sung and delicate vocals. Green described the track as her only proper break-up song, noting that it was written to feel visceral and that Lucy captured the chaotic emotional journey sonically.
Premature Nostalgia draws influences from Jockstrap, James Blake, Imogen Heap and FKA twigs. It explores Green's tendency to feel nostalgic before moments end and includes a collaboration with Katherine Parlour of Picture Parlour plus field recordings from Manchester.
